SPATIOLAB joins a Ukrainian Antarctic expedition

SPATIOLAB is participating in the Antarctic expedition organised by the National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine. The team’s main objective is to monitor the condition of Antarctic vegetation cover in the context of climate change.

Using a drone, a multispectral camera, and a portable fluorometer, we will create maps of vegetation distribution and assess vegetation health. These data will support research on ecosystem change in the Antarctic region. Our team is now in Punta Arenas, Chile. After completing quarantine procedures, the expedition will continue by sea to the Akademik Vernadsky Research Base.

We thank Drone.ua and Ihor Panas for their technical support.
